Agneta Mbithi

Dr. Mbithi is an experienced medical doctor and public health specialist with over 19 years of work in global health. Her career includes roles as a medical doctor and epidemiologist with the Kenya Ministry of Health, working in the National Malaria Control Program and the National AIDS and STI Control Program.

Throughout her career, Dr. Mbithi has provided technical leadership and strategic management in various aspects of disease control. She has been involved in developing and implementing national malaria policies, strategic plans, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks. Her expertise extends to curriculum development and training on malaria case management and surveillance. She has coordinated national population-based surveys, assessed project implementation and impact of malaria interventions. As a malaria technical advisor under USAID funded MEASURE Evaluation and PMI Measure Malaria Dr. Mbithi, emphasized on evidence-based decision-making and fostering partnerships to maximize program impact.

Her experience spans multiple countries, including Kenya, Cameroon, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone, where she has supported malaria surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation activities.

She is passionate about advancing public health initiatives and promoting community engagement. She aims to leverage her expertise in surveillance, monitoring and evaluation to further disease control and elimination efforts, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
