Ms. Gatakaa is a trained statistician with experience in protocol development, data management, and statistical analysis. She has worked as a statistician in research settings, providing support in study design, sampling, data analysis and use of sound statistical practice to scientists and researchers.
She brings over 15 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning. She has implemented and led donor-funded projects providing technical assistance to national Ministry of Health and county departments of health in different capacities including as a data quality advisor and civil registration and vital statics advisor; and managing an M&E capacity building project as the technical lead for health system strengthening.
Ms. Gatakaa is a meticulous leader; and has effectively managed a diverse team of staff when she was the Associate Director of Health Systems Strengthening (MEASURE Evaluation – PIMA) and Resident Advisor (CHISU Kenya). She has experience providing consultancy services and has served in national technical working teams. She is a member of the Kenya Coordinating Mechanism of the Global Fund, where she serves in the oversight committee.
This role allows her to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the Global Fund activities in Kenya.
