Dr Mutonga is a Medical Epidemiologist and former Kenya FELTP faculty member with extensive experience strengthening global health security across East Africa. Holding an MSc in Applied Epidemiology and an MD from the University of Nairobi. He has spent his career breaking down public health surveillance silos across the Kenya Ministry of Health, WHO, USAID, and the Taskforce for Global Health.

Am an expert in optimizing data pipelines between clinical laboratories and response teams, he has led major regional initiatives, including serving as Kenya Country Lead for the SONAR project and Kenya Team Lead for the USAID IDDS project. A champion for One Health frameworks, he previously served as Regional One Health Advisor for East Africa, spearheading cross-border coordination to track drug resistance and manage complex pandemic threats.

Dr Mutonga specialize in transforming fragmented surveillance data into actionable public health interventions.
