Jean Pierre Kidwang
Coordinator, Regional Technical Group for Malaria
North Region, Maroua, Cameroon

I’m a doctor with a master’s degree in public health and I’m currently serving as coordinator of the Regional Technical Group for Malaria Control in the Far North Region of Cameroon. My eight years’ experience as regional coordinator has enabled me to develop skills in health programme management, administrative and financial management, stock management, staff capacity building and surveillance, monitoring and evaluation.

The Far North region, has a population of 5.5 million, with 33 Health Districts and more than 480 health facilities with an estimated annual budget of $2 million. I coordinated eight seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) campaigns and two mass distribution campaigns of Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (LLINs and ITN), with coverage rates of 98% and 99% respectively. My management skills have enabled me to create and maintain a trustworthy relationship with all donors and partners such as WHO, the Global Fund, PMI, USAID, UNICEF and Plan International.

I am highly skilled in project management and have excellent communication skills, monitoring and evaluation skills, leadership skills and a proven ability to manage and work collaboratively in a diverse and high-performing team.
